Panjab University Recruitment 2020: Panjab University is a collegiate public central university located in Chandigarh, India. The university released the recruitment notification for the Post of Assistant Professor in various department on temporary basis. Panjab University announced 22 vacancies for the post. Interested and willing aspirants who are searching jobs in Punjab can use this chance. The appointment will be on contractual basis extended further as per the performance of the candidates. Those candidates who fulfil the eligibility criteria can attend the Walk-in-Interview at the venue given below. Eligible candidates should submit relevant documents as mentioned in the official notification at the time of Interview with the prescribed application fee. Candidates should report one hour before the scheduled time. Aspirants who fail to submit the documents will be rejected by the selection committee. Applicants should submit the original documents at the time of Interview. Candidates should hold degree in a recognized university.

Eligibility Criteria for PU Assistant Professor Posts:

Educational qualification:

  • Aspirants should pursue Master Degree/ Ph.D in concerned subject from a recognized university.

University Institute of Legal Studies (UILS)(i) A Master’s degree with 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point-scale wherever the grading system is followed) in Law from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university.
(ii) Besides fulfilling the above qualifications, the candidate must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC or the CSIR, or a similar test accredited by the UGC, like SLET/SET or who are or have been awarded a Ph. D. Degree in accordance with the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of M.Phil./Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2009 or 2016 and their amendments from time to time as the case may be exempted from NET/SLET/SET
OR
Ph.D degree
Police AdministrationFirst Class Masters Degree in Business Management/Administration / in a relevant management related discipline or first class in two year full time PGDM declared equivalent by AIU/accredited by the AICTE / UGC with specialization in Retail Management.
OR
A Master„s degree with 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point-scale wherever the grading system is followed) in Retail Management from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university.
University Institute of Applied Management and Sciences (UIAMS)First Class Masters Degree in Business Management/Administration / in a relevant management related discipline or first class in two year full time PGDM declared equivalent by AIU/accredited by the AICTE / UGC with specialization in Marketing Management.
OR
A Master„s degree with 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point-scale wherever the grading system is followed) in Marketing Management from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university.
Statistics and/or Operation ResearchFirst Class Masters Degree in Business Management/ Administration / in a relevant management related discipline or first class in two year full time PGDM declared equivalent by AIU/accredited by the AICTE / UGC with specialization in Statistics and/or Operation Research. OR
A Master„s degree with 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point-scale wherever the grading system is followed) in Statistics and/or Operation Research from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university
Assistant Professor in the Centre for Police Administrationi) A Master„s degree with 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point-scale wherever the grading system is followed) in Police Administration from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university.
ii) Besides fulfilling the above qualifications, the candidate must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC or the CSIR, or a similar test accredited by the UGC, like SLET/SET or who are or have been awarded a Ph. D. Degree in accordance with the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of M.Phil./Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2009 or 2016 and their amendments from time to time as the case may be exempted from NET/SLET/SET
Assistant Professor in the Department of Physicsi) A Master„s degree with 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point-scale wherever the grading system is followed) in Physics from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university.
ii) Besides fulfilling the above qualifications, the candidate must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC or the CSIR, or a similar test accredited by the UGC, like SLET/SET or who are or have been awarded a Ph. D. Degree in accordance with the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of M.Phil./Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2009 or 2016 and their amendments from time to time as the case may be exempted from NET/SLET/SET
Assistant Professor (Electronics)i) A Master’s degree with 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point-scale wherever the grading system is followed) in Physics from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university with specialization in Electronics.
ii) Besides fulfilling the above qualifications, the candidate must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC or the CSIR, or a similar test accredited by the UGC, like SLET/SET or who are or have been awarded a Ph. D. Degree in accordance with the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of M.Phil./Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2009 or 2016 and their amendments from time to time as the case may be exempted from NET/SLET/SET
Assistant Professor in the Department of Ancient Indian History, Culture & Archaeologyi) A Master„s degree with 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point-scale wherever the grading system is followed) in Ancient Indian History, Culture & Archaeology from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university.
ii) Besides fulfilling the above qualifications, the candidate must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC or the CSIR, or a similar test accredited by the UGC, like SLET/SET or who are or have been awarded a Ph. D. Degree in accordance with the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of M.Phil./Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2009 or 2016 and their amendments from time to time as the case may be exempted from NET/SLET/SET
Assistant Professor in the Centre for Defence and National Security Studiesi) A Master„s degree with 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point-scale wherever the grading system is followed) in Defence & Strategic Studies from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university with specialization in National Security of India.
ii) Besides fulfilling the above qualifications, the candidate must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC or the CSIR, or a similar test accredited by the UGC, like SLET/SET or who are or have been awarded a Ph. D. Degree in accordance with the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of M.Phil./Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2009 or 2016 and their amendments from time to time as the case may be exempted from NET/SLET/SET
Assistant Professor in the Department of Economicsi) A Master„s degree with 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point-scale wherever the grading system is followed) in Economics from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university.
ii) Besides fulfilling the above qualifications, the candidate must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC or the CSIR, or a similar test accredited by the UGC, like SLET/SET or who are or have been awarded a Ph. D. Degree in accordance with the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of M.Phil./Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2009 or 2016 and their amendments from time to time as the case may be exempted from NET/SLET/SET
Assistant Professor in the Department of Lawsi) A Master’s degree with 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point-scale wherever the grading system is followed) in Law subject from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university.
ii) Besides fulfilling the above qualifications, the candidate must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC or the CSIR, or a similar test accredited by the UGC, like SLET/SET or who are or have been awarded a Ph. D. Degree in accordance with the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of M.Phil./Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2009 or 2016 and their amendments from time to time as the case may be exempted from NET/SLET/SET
Assistant Professor in the Department of Public Administrationi) A Master’s degree with 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point-scale wherever the grading system is followed) in Public Administration from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university.
 ii) Besides fulfilling the above qualifications, the candidate must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC or the CSIR, or a similar test accredited by the UGC, like SLET/SET or who are or have been awarded a Ph. D. Degree in accordance with the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of M.Phil./Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2009 or 2016 and their amendments from time to time as the case may be exempted from NET/SLET/SET
Assistant Professor in the Department of Biochemistryi) A Master„s degree with 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point-scale wherever the grading system is followed) in Biochemistry from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university with specialization in Plant Biochemistry/Molecular Cell Biology/Toxicology/ Molecular Genetics.
ii) Besides fulfilling the above qualifications, the candidate must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC or the CSIR, or a similar test accredited by the UGC, like SLET/SET or who are or have been awarded a Ph.D. Degree in accordance with the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of M.Phil./Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2009 or 2016 and their amendments from time to time as the case may be exempted from NET/SLET/SET
Assistant Professor in the Centre for Public Health (UIEAST)i) A Master„s degree with 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point-scale wherever the grading system is followed) in Public Health/Environment/Community Health/Health Administration /Social Work/MD in Community Medicine/SPM(Social & Preventive Medicine)/PSM (Preventive & Social Medicine)/CHA (Community Health Adminstration)/M.Tech. (Env.)/ M.E. (Env.) from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university.
ii) Besides fulfilling the above qualifications, the candidate must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC or the CSIR, or a similar test accredited by the UGC, like SLET/SET or who are or have been awarded a Ph.D. Degree in accordance with the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of M.Phil./Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2009 or 2016 and their amendments from time to time as the case may be exempted from NET/SLET/SET
Assistant Professor in the Department of Sanskriti) A Master„s degree with 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point-scale wherever the grading system is followed) in Sanskrit from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university with the specialization in Veda/Sanskrit Grammer/Darshan/ Literature and Literary criticism.
 ii) Besides fulfilling the above qualifications, the candidate must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC or the CSIR, or a similar test accredited by the UGC, like SLET/SET or who are or have been awarded a Ph.D. Degree in accordance with the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of M.Phil./Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2009 or 2016 and their amendments from time to time as the case may be exempted from NET/SLET/SET
Assistant Professor in the Department of Gandhian and Peace Studiesi) A Master„s degree with 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point-scale wherever the grading system is followed) in Gandhian and Peace Studies/Gandhian Thought from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university.
ii) Besides fulfilling the above qualifications, the candidate must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC or the CSIR, or a similar test accredited by the UGC, like SLET/SET or who are or have been awarded a Ph.D. Degree in accordance with the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of M.Phil./Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2009 or 2016 and their amendments from time to time as the case may be exempted from NET/SLET/SET
