Education Qualification for UPSC Job Notice
- A Bachelor's degree from any of the Universities incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India, or other educational institutions established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956, or an equivalent educational qualification, is required.

Age limit for UPSC Civil Services Examination 2024
- Applicants must be at least 21 years old and no older than 32 years old by August 1, 2024, which means they must have been born between August 2, 1992 and August 1, 2003.
Relaxation of Upper Age Limit:
For SC/ST candidates, 5 years
For OBC Candidates: 3 years
For PwBD (Gen/EWS) Candidates: 10 years
For PwBD (SC/ST) Candidates: 15 years
For PwBD (OBC) Candidates: 13 years
Applicants Relaxation of the upper age restriction will be given in accordance with government guidelines.
Number of Attempts:
Every applicant who appears for the exam and is otherwise eligible will be allowed six (6) tries at the CSE. Applicants from the SC/ST/OBC/PwBD categories who are otherwise eligible will be granted a waiver of the number of tries required. The number of attempts allowed to such applicants under relaxation is as follows:
- For SC/ST Candidates: Unlimited
- For OBC Candidates: 09 years.
- For GL/EWS/OBC Unlimited, SC/ST Candidates - 09 years

Preliminary and Main Examination Scheme and Subjects :
A. PRELIMINARY EXAMINATION:
There will be two mandatory papers with 200 marks each.
Note: (i) Both question papers will be objective (multiple choice) with a duration of two hours.
(ii) The Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination's General Studies Paper-II shall have a minimum qualifying mark of 33%.
(iii) Question papers will be set in both Hindi and English.
(iv) Syllabus details are presented in Part A of Section III.
B. MAIN EXAMINATION:
