Education Qualification for TNMAWS Job Notice
1. Assistant Engineer (Corporation) - Must have a B.E. degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering, a B.Tech degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering, or an equivalent qualification.
2. Assistant Engineer (Civil/Mechanical) - Must have a degree in engineering (civil or mechanical) from a university or institution recognized by the University Grants Commission for the purpose of this award. A degree in production engineering or industrial engineering from Anna University is also accepted as equal to a B.E. (mechanical engineering) for the purpose of appointment to the above-mentioned position. Preference will be given to those who have earned a master's degree in public health engineering from a university or institution recognized by the University Grants Commission for the purpose of the award. A pass on sections A and B of the A.M.I.E. test.
3. Assistant Engineer (Municipality) - Must have a B.E. degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or any other qualification recognized as equivalent by any university or institution.
4. Assistant Engineer (Civil) - A degree in Civil Engineering from a university or institution recognized by the University Grants Commission for the purpose of award. Persons with a postgraduate degree or diploma in public health engineering will be given preference.
5. Assistant Engineer (Mechanical) - A degree in Mechanical Engineering from a university or institution recognized by the University Grants Commission for the purpose of award. Persons with a postgraduate degree or diploma in public health engineering will be given preference.
6. Assistant Engineer (Electrical) - Must have a degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, or Electronics and Communication Engineering from a university or institution recognized by the University Grants Commission for the purpose of this award. Preference shall be given to persons who have obtained a Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering from any university/institution recognized by the University Grants Commission for the purpose of its grant, or who have passed Sections A and B of the A.M.I.E Examination with Electrical, Electrical and Electronics, or Electronics and Communication Engg.
7. Assistant Engineer (Planning) (Corporation) - Must have a degree in Planning, Civil Engineering, or Architecture, or a qualification considered equivalent thereto from any recognized university or institution. Preference will be given to those who have obtained a Master's degree in planning.
8. Town Planning Officer Grade II/ Assistant Engineer (Planning) (Municipality) - Must have a degree in planning, civil engineering, or architecture, or a certification considered equivalent thereto from any recognized university or institution. Preference will be given to those with a master's degree in planning.
9. Junior Engineer - A licentiate in civil engineering or a licentiate in sanitation engineering diploma or D.C.E. given by the State Board of Technical Examination and Training, Madras, or any diploma recognized by the Government of Tamil Nadu as equivalent thereto for employment under the said Government.
10. Technical Assistant - Must have a diploma in civil or mechanical engineering from the Directorate of Technical Education, Government of Tamil Nadu, or an equivalent.
11. Draughtsman (Corporation) - Must have a Diploma in Civil or Mechanical Engineering from the Directorate of Technical Education, Government of Tamil Nadu, or an equivalent.
12. Draughtsman (Municipality) - Must have a diploma in civil, mechanical, or electrical engineering.
13. Overseer - Must have a diploma in civil, mechanical, or electrical engineering.
14. Town Planning Inspector/Junior Engineer (Planning) - Must have a diploma in civil engineering, a bachelor's degree in planning, or a diploma in architecture from any university. Preference will be given to individuals with a postgraduate diploma in town planning.
15. Work Inspector - Must have a Diploma in Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering from a government-approved college in Tamil Nadu.
16. Sanitary Inspector (Corporations and Municipalities) - Candidates must have a B.Sc degree in Zoology allied with Chemistry or Chemistry allied with Zoology, or a B.Sc degree in Public Health, Environmental Science, Microbiology, or Bio-Chemistry; and they must have completed the Sanitary Inspector course from any university.
Note: The educational qualifications required for these posts must have been obtained in the following order of studies: 10th + HSC/Diploma + Undergraduate Degree + Postgraduate Degree, as required by Section 25 of the Tamil Nadu Government Servants (Conditions of Service) Act, 2016. The examination results should have been released on or before the date of this Notification. (Section 20 (4) (iv), Tamil Nadu Government Servants (Conditions of Service) Act 2016)
